COURSE ASSESSMENTS
Students will receive grades on weekly video comprehension questions and reading quizzes, discussion activities, a final assignment, and participation (completing the pre- and post-course surveys).
Comprehension Questions and Reading Quizzes
Each module will have a series of corresponding comprehension questions and a reading quiz. You will have two attempts at each multiple choice question, and one attempt for True/False questions. After you submit your answers, you can view your grade report under the Progress tab from the main menu.
Discussion Activities
Activities in ask you to engage with the content in a new way. To receive credit for the activity, you must read the instructions carefully, complete the tasks, indicate that you've completed the tasks by responding to the participation questions, and answer any comprehension questions associated with the activity. Your three activities with the lowest score will be dropped--this means that you can receive a low score on up to three discussion activities, and it will not affect your overall grade.
Final Assignment
A peer-reviewed final assignment will ask you to apply the lessons you have learned from the course to a situation in your own life or work. The assignment will be graded via peer review--the assessment of learners' work by other learners.
To receive complete credit for this assignment, you must 1) submit your response to the prompt (approx. 500 words), and 2) complete peer reviews of two other learners' responses according to a rubric we will provide. Two peers will also review your response as well.
Note: You must review the assignments of two peers, but are only required to be graded by one reviewer. Thus, if one of your two assigned peer reviewers does not complete his/her review of your assignment, your grade will not suffer.
GRADING
The final grade for the course will be weighted as follows: 30% for comprehension questions, 20% for reading quizzes, 20% for the activities, 20% for the final assignment, and 10% for participation. In order to be eligible to purchase a Verified Certificate, you will need at least a 70% average in the class. You can decide to purchase a Verified Certificate up to 10 days from the close of the course.
You have until 30 December 2018 at 23:30 UTC to complete all assignments for credit.
