There are a few ways to engage with other students, the course TA, and course instructors.
1. Discussion Forums:
This course uses discussion forums -- so that you can engage with other students and with instructors and the course teaching assistant! The discussion forums can be accessed through the "Discussion" tab found on the top of the course screen.
There are a couple of ways to begin, and respond to, discussions in the forum:
- Posting a new discussion thread. To add a new thread to the discussion forum or in your group, click on the "Add A Post" button in the upper right hand corner. In addition to text, you are also able to pictures and link articles to your thread.
- Responding to other discussion threads. Keep the conversation going! Comment on a thread by typing in the "Add a Response" text box and clicking "Submit" under the thread. This is the best way to engage in the activities that we'll ask you to complete each week.
- Following threads. Is there an interesting conversation starting? You can "follow" a thread that you find compelling by selecting the Star icon. If you want to keep track of who is replying to your posts, click the “Discussion” tab and check the box to receive daily digests about new activity on your posts. This is a great way to keep engaged with the course and contribute to a meaningful learning environment!
2. Live Office Hours
Throughout the course, we will announce Office Hours with instructors. You should try to join these sessions live when possible! If you are unavailable, you may also submit your questions in advance. See the Office Hours tab for more information.
