Grading and Course Assessments
All learners have access to comprehension questions following each module in order to test and support your understanding of the content. These comprehension questions are ungraded but strongly encouraged to maximize understanding.
Learners have access to graded course assessments, which consist of a Mid-term Exam and a Final Exam. The Mid-term Exam is worth 40% of the course grade. The Final Exam is worth 50% of the course grade. The remaining 10% of the course grade comes from Participation (completing pre- and post-course surveys).
Learners will have two attempts to correctly answer questions with more than two possible answers. Questions with only two possible answers (such as a True or False question) will have only 1 attempt. Verified Track learners must score a 70% or higher combined grade (including the Mid-term, Final and Participation) to receive a certificate from EdX. Please note that all learners (audit and verified track) must score a 70% or higher to receive a certificate of completion from the MOOC faculty.
You have the duration of the course to complete all assignments for credit. All questions are due by the time the course closes on 22 June 2020 at 23:59 UTC, or Co-ordinated Universal Time. Please check what the corresponding time is in your respective timezones!
