GRADING POLICY
To receive a Verified Certificate for Music Theory 101, you will need to attain a course average of at least 65%.
Assessments will be weighted as follows:

Notes about assessments:
Quizzes will be based on content learned from instructional videos throughout the course. All quizzes are open-book; students are welcome to re-watch videos as many times as they need in order to learn the material.
As part of each module, students will complete an ungraded Practice and Learn worksheet. In modules 2-6, students will also complete a Composition Project worksheet. After completing each step in the composition project, students must indicate their completion at the "checkpoint." If they do no indicate completion, they will not receive credit.
What is a Verified Certificate and how do I earn one?
Music Theory 101 offers a Verified Certificate to students who successfully complete the course. The requirements for receipt of a Verified Certificate include:
- demonstrated comprehension of learning objectives for each module through weekly assignments.
- completion of weekly assignments (e.g. quizzes and composition project assignments).
- a passing grade of 65% in the course (progress throughout the course can be monitored by viewing the Progress Tab on the course site).
