Academic Policy
You must behave with academic honesty and respect your fellow students. Please abide by the edX Terms of Service & Honor Code.
Course Format
This course consists of the following:
- Lectures: Each week of the course, approx. 1h lecture videos divided into short video clips are provided. You can find the weekly themes in the course syllabus.
- After-video Quizzes: You are sometimes expected to answer these quizzes which will be graded.
- Weekly Quizzes: Each week quizzes will be provided and graded.
- Discussion Forums: Discussion forums are great tools to learn from one another. Please post your questions and thoughts, and exchange opinions with your peers. It is highly recommended that you contribute to and learn from the forums.
Workload
3 to 4 hours per week

You can work on the course at your own pace.
Grading Policy
Your final grade will be calculated on the basis of the following formula:
- After-video Quizzes: 15% per week, 60% in total
- Weekly Quizzes: 10% per week, 40% in total
Certificate
To receive a Verified Certificate, you have to obtain >= 50% of the maximum possible score. If your work is satisfactory, you can generate your certificate on your own.
Communication Policy
Please do not e-mail the professor or TA directly. You are encouraged to post your comments and questions in the discussion forums. Your posts will be periodically monitored by TA and course staff; however, owing to the large number of students and limited resources, we may not be able to answer all questions. We would appreciate your understanding.
