This is a self-paced course on Operations Management. In this course, you will understand key aspects of business operations and lean management including capacity, productivity, quality, and supply chain. Operations Management helps you to understand the role of OM in a firm and to develop abilities to structure and solve operations related problems.

Pre-requisites

You require basic concepts in statistics such as Mean and Standard Deviation.

  TIME COMMITMENT

Course Duration:

  • Self-paced: The course has 5 sections, as outlined above. 
  • Each section will require 5-7 hours to complete. This includes the time spent in going through the course materials (videos and reading materials), taking up the assessments and participating in the discussion forums.

Note: Week and Section may be used inter-changeably. The term 'Week' indicates a section of courseware that will approximately take you 5-7 hours to complete.

Grading Scheme

The course follows End of Week assessment scheme and Final Proctored Exam scheme, which consists of multiple choice questions and scenario-based questions. There are 5 end of week assessments and 1 final proctored exam in this course. The score from each assessment will contribute to the final score, which you can track using the Progress tab. All assessments are due by 30 July 2022, 22:00 UTC. You need to score 60% overall to pass. There is no sectional cut off concept. 

Only verified track learners can take the graded exams. Audit track learners cannot take any exam in this course as per edX policy. Last date to upgrade to verified track is 10 days before the last date of the course. Please go to home page to upgrade to Verified Certifcate.  (Please use PC to be on a safer side. Mobile devices may not work for this purpose. Also, after uploading your photo and ID proof, make sure that its readable, scanned in high resolution. If the text in the scanned proof is not readable, then the process may not complete).

If you are taking this course as a verified track student, and want a MicroMasters Credential, you must take the proctored exam for your final assessment. To know more about procotred exams, please visit the Guidelines for Proctored Exam section.

The ungraded assessments are interspersed throughout the course to recall what you have learnt so far. These do not count for final score and will not show up on the Progress tab.
