Greg

Dr. Gregory Curfman, MD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and on the affiliated faculty of Harvard Law School. Previously Dr. Curfman served as the Editor-in-Chief of Harvard Health Publishing, and he was the Executive Editor of The New England Journal of Medicine, which has the highest impact factor of any medical journal. Dr. Curfman is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, and trained in internal medicine and cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital. He directed the Coronary Care Unit at Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Cardiovascular Health Center, a heart disease prevention program at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Cathy

Catherine Finn, LCSW is the Deputy Editor at Harvard Health Publications and the Executive Producer for OpioidX. Catherine leads digital publication productions and online learning courses at Harvard Health Publications. For 10 years Catherine created award-winning programs to help patients and physicians engage in shared decision-making around managing chronic pain, treating mental health conditions, and considering end of life care. Catherine has worked with patients as a medical social worker, and she conducted her training at Healthcare Associates, a multidisciplinary primary care practice at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.  

Danielle

Danielle Bäck is a fourth year medical student at Harvard who is applying to residency programs in Internal Medicine/Primary Care. She is a founding member of the Massachusetts Student Coalition on Addiction, an organization of healthcare professional students dedicated to advocating for increased services for patients with substance use disorders. Her research focuses on the intersection of addiction medicine and medical education. In her spare time, she enjoys running along the Charles River, cooking pasta dinners, and trying not to fall during vinyasa yoga.

Siva

Siva Sundaram is a second-year MD student at Harvard Medical School with interests in addiction medicine and child and adolescent psychiatry. Before medical school, he worked as a field guide at a wilderness therapy program in Utah for teenagers struggling with substance use issues. As a medical student, he has spent his extracurricular time advocating for more comprehensive training in addiction medicine in medical schools and for expanded access to evidence-based addiction treatment. 

Katherine

Katherine Warren is an MD-PhD student at Harvard Medical School with a focus on mental health and substance use disorders. She has previously worked in public health and health policy in New Mexico, Montana, Maryland, and Washington D.C. She recently wrote her master’s thesis on opioid-related overdose in Baltimore City. 

Anne Marie

Anne Marie Williams will be graduating from Harvard Medical School in the spring and beginning Family Medicine Residency in Seattle, WA. She is passionate about treating substance use disorders in primary care and has advocated for more primary care doctors to provide office-based medication assisted treatment for opioid addiction. 

Chris

Chris Engles spent over a decade in public broadcasting as a technical director for such programs as NPR’s Cartalk, PRI’s The World and NPR’s Living on Earth. In the mid 1990’s he transitioned to narrative and documentary film work, much of which has screened in New England area film festivals. When he’s not editing courses for HarvardX he’s producing the feature length documentary Finding Heaven Under Our Feet: Making Modern Dance, premiering in 2017. 

Shilpa

Shilpa Idnani is a Course Development Assistant at HarvardX, and has been a part of HarvardX for about two years. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Wellesley College, where she specialized in creating interactive computer ecosystem and hydrogeological models. Recently, she has designed, created, and collected materials for wide variety of HarvardX courses including Humanitarian Response to Conflict and Disaster, ContractsX, and First Nights. She will be monitoring the discussion boards for technical issues with the platform and course.

Clint

Clint Attebery is a member of the HarvardX team where he develops and produces online courses with a variety of faculty members. He has worked in academic and educational publishing and technology for more than 10 years.
