LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to

    • Discuss principles and physiology of mechanical ventilation
    • Explain initial ventilator setting, adjustments and troubleshooting
    • Describe ventilating patients in special circumstances including Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Obstructive Lung Disease
    • Explain how to perform waveform analysis while monitoring the patient
    • Evaluate a patient for extubation readiness and describe the extubation procedure
    • Describe how standard ventilation practices are different in COVID-19 patients

CLAIMING CREDITS: 

Once you have reviewed the audio/video content and complete the associated readings, fill out the Mechanical Ventilation for COVID-19 CME Registration survey and complete the post-test. After you complete the post-test, you will receive an email with the score results. If you earned a score of at least 75%, a copy of your certificate will be provided in this confirmation email. If you didn't earn at least 75% then you will be provided instructions on how to edit your answers to the post-test questions.
