About Certificates of Achievement

The purchase of certificates is optional; but it allows to highlight the knowledge and skills acquired in this course. It is also a motivating factor to complete the course. The certificate does not confer any credit or university degree.

A certificate can be issued upon obtaining the passing grade of the course.

Note that the amount you pay for the certificate is used to improve and update this course, maintain the platform and create new courses. In this way, we can continue to support you in your training project.

Request a certificate

  • The certificate of achievement is issued with the participant’s name as it is shown in your account settings. It indicates the number of hours of training received.  
  • From your dashboard, click on the green “Upgrade to Verified” button in your course section (see picture below).

    • Proceed with the payment. Once your payment is completed and you have returned to the dashboard, you will see a new "Verify Now" button, which will let you begin the identity verification process (see picture below).

Identity Verification

  • Have your identity verified with two photos. You will be given all the necessary information when you reach this step.
  • You must begin this process immediately after your payment.
  • Please note that a 24 to 48 hour delay may be required for our staff to verify your identity. This is done on a daily basis from Monday to Friday.
  • During this delay, your dashboard will display a message indicating that your request is being processed (see picture below).

  

Issuance of the certificate

  • As soon as you have obtained the pass mark of the course, you can request the delivery of your certificate.
  • To do this, click on the "Progress" page of the course and then click on the "Request a certificate" button. Important! The identity verification must be completed for the button to appear.
    • You can download your certificate by refreshing the "Progress" page (generating the certificate can take up to a few minutes).

Can I begin the course without buying the certificate and buy it later if I change my mind?

Yes, you have up to Sep 4, 2020 to buy the verified track. You can buy your verified enrollment even after you lose access to the course.

I am unable to take the required pictures to proceed with my identification verification

Please use the latest versions of Chrome or Firefox browsers (if one doesn’t work, try the other). A message will appear, informing you that the website is trying to access your camera. Accept. If the camera still doesn’t work, please make sure that Flash or JavaScript are correctly installed and that you have granted them access to your camera. If none of these steps work, try using another computer to access the camera and take the pictures. Once your pictures have been sent, a member of edX’s staff will have to validate them before you can obtain your certificate.

Do I need to pose in a specific way for the pictures required for my identity to be verified ?

Yes. Two pictures are required.

1- The first picture must show a front view of your face, with a neutral expression.

2- The second picture must show a photo ID of you, delivered by a government authority.

 The only payment options in my area are PayPal and Western Union. I do not have a credit card.

You can pay for the certificate track in an edX course with a credit/debit card or PayPal.

To complete a payment, enroll in the Verified Track or click Upgrade to Verified next to the course on your edX dashboard or on the right side of the main page within the course. 

We currently accept credit and debit card payments from the following networks:

  • American Express
  • Discover
  • Mastercard
  • Visa

At this time we are not able to accept bank transfers or other payment methods. 

 Can I get refunded?

To receive a refund in a verified track course unenroll from the course within the refund eligibility period - 14 days after your purchase date or 14 days after your course starts, whichever comes later*.  

Note: Refunds are not available after you have earned a certificate.

*(Up to a maximum of 180 days after your payment, due to credit card and PayPal processing limits.)
