For all learners

This course contains ungraded end-of-module questions, online discussions, and online live sessions that will be scheduled throughout the course period. Whether or not you are pursuing a Verified Certificate, you are encouraged to participate to these activities, as they are your opportunity to gauge how well you understand the material.

You will have two attempts for each question. You will be able to see the explanation to the answer either after the correct answer or two failed attempts. Mid-term and final exams are available to Verified Certificate learners only.

If you started the course on Audit Track, you can decide to pay for a Verified Certificate up to ten days before the course closing date.

For self-paced courses, edX suggests due dates for assignments and exams as a way to help you stay on track. These due dates are suggestions to help you plan and pace your studies. You can submit assignments or take the exams at any time up until the end date of the course. Learn more about edX suggested due dates here.

If you see an assignment you have not completed is Past Due, or you see a message that you have missed a suggested deadline on the course home page or Dates tab, you can shift your due dates. Use the Shift due dates button on the course home page or the Dates tab. This will not affect any of the progress you have made in the course so far.

edX offers financial assistance to learners who wish to pay for the Verified Certificate but are unable to afford it. Please refer to edX financial assistance page.

For Verified Certificate learners

The mid-term and final exams count for 100 percent of your grade. You must achieve 70 percent or more to receive a Verified Certificate.

Your final course grade will be weighted as follows:

  • 40 percent for the mid-term exam
  • 60 percent for the final exam

You will be able to answer all exam questions by watching the lecture videos and reading the core reading materials. The case-study videos, additional reading, and key web links will not be tested in your mid-term and final exams.

You have two attempts for every question; your number of attempts does not affect your score. You can check your individual end-of-module question grades and overall progress in the Progress tab.

All assessments are due by 23:59 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) on August 31, 2023. You can use this time zone converter to find out what time that is in your own time zone.

Academic policy

We expect all learners to adhere to the edX Honor Code when it comes to the completion of SDG Academy courses.
