SDGAcademyX: PB001 Planetary Boundaries

Grading Policy

This course includes ungraded comprehension questions, homework activities, and discussion prompts, which all learners are encouraged to attempt. Whether or not you are pursuing a certificate, you are encouraged to complete all of the assessments, as they are your opportunity to gauge how well you understand the material. For the comprehension quizzes, you will have two attempts at each question if it has multiple answers, and only one attempt if the question has only two answers or is true/false. Verified Learners also have access to a final exam. 

Verified Learners: Your final course grade will be weighted as follows: 

  • 40% for Mid Term Quiz
  • 60% for Final Assessment 

You have two attempts for every question (except true/false questions -- these can only be answered once!) You can check your individual quiz grades and overall progress in the Progress tab. 

In order to be eligible to purchase a verified certificate, you must achieve a 70% overall average grade. You may decide to purchase a verified certificate up to 10 days before the course closing date. All course deadlines are clearly mentioned in the right corner of the main Course page. Please be mindful of all of them as we will not be able to accommodate individual requests for extensions!
As a reminder, edX offers financial assistance to learners who wish to purchase the Verified Certificate, but are unable to afford it.

A note on dates:
For self-paced courses, edX suggests due dates for assignments and exams as a way to help you stay on track. These due dates are suggestions to help you plan and pace your studies.
