This Virtual Coffee with Changemakers event will be dedicated to celebrating the role of ecosystems in reducing the impacts of hazards and climate change across the Arab region. It will be an opportunity to engage on the topic of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and their relevancy to the regions' environment and climate change issues. The live event will be in Arabic.

We are honored to welcome Hakan Lucius and Urs Dieterich as our special guests for this "Virtual Coffee" session. Hakan Lucius is the Head of Corporate Responsibility at the European Investment Bank, the European Union’s bank, covering the sustainability, non-financial reporting and stakeholder engagement dimensions of the institution. Urs Dieterich is the Land Use Fund Manager of South Pole, designing the Landscape Resilience Fund, a not-for-profit venture debt fund to help scale climate-resilient land use in developing countries. The event will be moderated by Nathalie Doswald, United Nations Environment Programme.

We are honored to welcome Jayathma Wickramanayake as our special guest for this second "Virtual Coffee" session. Ms. Jayathma Wickramanayake is the youngest senior official in the UN and the first woman to hold the position of UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth. The event will also feature Dr. Annisa Triyanti, Postdoctoral researcher in water and climate governance at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University. The event will be moderated by Mikhail Fernandes, United Nations Environment Programme.
