COURSE ASSESSMENTS

All learners have access to comprehension questions following each video in order to test and support understanding of the content. Comprehension questions are ungraded but strongly encouraged to maximize understanding of the course content. 

Learners on the Verified Track have access to graded course assessments, which consist of a Mid-term Exam (10 questions) and a Final Exam (20 questions). 

Students' grades are calculated in relation to their participation in the Pre-Course Survey, Post-Course Survey, as well as their performance at the Mid-term and Final Exam.

The final grade for the course will be weighted as follows:

  • 50% for the Final Exam,
  • 40% for the Mid-term Exam,
  • 10% for Course Participation i.e 5% for the Pre-course Survey and 5% for the Post-course Survey.

GRADING POLICY

(If you are a learner who wishes to achieve a Certificate - please read the following information very carefully!)

To be eligible for a Verified Certificate - you must achieve 70% and above in all the graded components of the course,

AND

Opt-in for - or Upgrade to the "Verified" track 10 days prior to the course closing date as seen in your Course tab, which gives edX sufficient time to verify your identity and process your payment towards the certificate fee.

Note: edX offers financial assistance to learners who wish to purchase a Verified Certificate, but are unable to afford it!

All assessments are due by 00:00 UTC  (or Co-ordinated Universal Time) on Sep 1, 2020. You can use this time zone converter to learn what time that is in your time zone. 

You can check your individual grades and overall progress in the Progress tab (which is more easily visible via a desktop instead of the edX App).  

NOTE:

All course dates and certificate-related deadlines are listed on the "Course" page when you log back into the course. 

We expect all learners to adhere to the edX Honor Code when it comes to the completion of SDG Academy courses.
