Course Assessments

Learners will receive grades on weekly video chapter questions , discussion activities, a midterm exam, a final reflection, and participation (completing the pre- and post-course surveys).

Chapter Questions

Each week, there are a series of chapter questions following each video. You will have two attempts at each multiple choice question, and one attempt for True/False questions. After you submit your answers, you can view your grade report under the Progress tab from the main menu.

Discussion Activities

Activities in ask you to engage with the content in a new way. To receive credit for the activity, you must read the instructions carefully, complete the tasks, indicate that you've completed the tasks by responding to the Participation Question, and answer any comprehension questions associated with the activity. Your three activities with the lowest score will be dropped--this means that you can receive a low score on up to three discussion activities, and it will not affect your overall grade.

Midterm Exam

There will be a midterm exam following Week 5. Please note that, whereas the chapter questions assess your understanding of the lecture videos, the midterm exam will ensure that you understand the concepts covered in Modules 1-3 and can apply them to real-world questions.

Final Reflection

At the end of the course, you will be asked to write a short reflection on what you have learned and what actions you intend to take to combat climate change in your work, home, community, etc.

Grading

The final grade for the course will be weighted as follows: 35% for comprehension questions, 25% for the midterm exam, 20% for the activities, 10% for the final reflection, and 10% for participation. In order to be eligible to purchase a Verified Certificate, you will need at least a 70% average in the class. You can decide to purchase a Verified Certificate up to 10 days from the close of the course.

You have until 21 April 2019 at 23:30 UTC to complete all assignments for credit.
