Adolfo Barajas
Adolfo Barajas — I am a Senior Economist in the Institute for Capacity Development at the IMF. I teach courses in financial sector issues and macroeconomics. I have worked in the Western Hemisphere and Middle East and Central Asia departments of the Fund, and as a researcher in the Colombian central bank and at Fedesarrollo, a private think tank. I have a Ph.D. in economics from the Stanford University and a B.A. in economics from the Universidad de los Andes.

Seung Mo Choi
Seung Mo Choi — I am an Economist at the European Department of the IMF. I previously worked at the Institute for Capacity Development of the IMF and at the School of Economic Sciences in Washington State University. My research in finance, macro policies, and growth has been published in economics and finance journals such as International Economic Review. I obtained a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago (2008) and a B.A. in economics from Seoul National University (1999).

Fabio Comelli
Fabio Comelli — I am Senior Economist with the Institute for Capacity Development. Before joining the IMF I worked for an asset management firm in London as an emerging market economist as well as at the European Central Bank and at Deutsche Bank. My research interests are on topics of international finance, estimating and forecasting emerging market sovereign bond yield spreads, and estimating the likelihood of observing sudden stops in capital inflows in emerging markets. I earned a Ph.D. in Economics at University of London.

Alex Ho
Alex Ho — I am currently an Economist at the African Department of the IMF. I joined the IMF in September 2014 through the Economist Program first serving in the Institute of Capacity Development (ICD). Before joining the IMF, I worked at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) for five and half years. I have research interests in the implication of financial market development on inequality, financial market spillovers, and macro–financial linkages to monetary economics. I hold a Ph.D. from Boston University.

Christian Johnson — I am a Senior Economist in the Institute for Capacity Development at the IMF since 2011. Before this, I was the head of the International Money Desk at the Central Bank of Chile in charge of the international reserves, a faculty member of financial econometrics and macroeconomics in the Adolfo Ibanez University, and a Senior Economist to the Joint Vienna Institute. I hold an M.A. in Economics from ILADES/Georgetown University and a M.A. and a PhD in Economics from Duke University.

Evan Tanner
Evan Tanner — I am Senior Economist in the Asian Division of the Institute for Capacity Development (ICD) at the IMF. My research covers macroeconomics and fiscal policy issues. I design and deliver training for policy–oriented economists from around the world for the IMF. Previously in the Research Department of the IMF, I developed tools for forecasting and policy assessment. I have taught at the University of Miami and the University of California in Los Angeles. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California in Los Angeles.

Francisco Vazquez
Francisco Vazquez — I am currently a Senior Economist in the Institute for Capacity Development at the IMF and teach courses in macroeconomics, international finance, and banking. Previously, I carried out macroeconomic and financial sector analysis in Brazil, Spain, Ecuador, Poland, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. I hold a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Maryland in College Park, an M.B.A. from IESA, and a B.A. in economics from the University of the Andes.

Jason Torres
Jason Torres — I am a Projects Officer and Instructional Designer with the Institute for Capacity Development at the IMF. Prior to joining the IMF, I was at MIT collaborating on a joint project with the Russian Government. I specialize in designing learning environments and experiences for adult learners and international audiences. I hold an Ed.D. from Texas Tech University in Instructional Technology and a B.A. in Government and Asian Studies from the University of Texas–Austin. I am citizen of the United States of America.

Shayan Montazeri — I am an Information Management Officer at IMF's Institute for Capacity Development. I support the team with technical aspect of our online courses on edX platform as well as managing some of these courses. Prior to joining the IMF, I was working for several tech start up companies in Washington D.C area as software developer. I have a Masters Degree in Computer Science from The George Washington University, Washington D.C. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, stargazing and being in the nature. Enjoy the course!

After finishing graduate studies in Int'l Relations, I joined the IMF, first at the Fiscal Affairs Department and now at the IMF Institute.
