The timeline below shows some of the important developments of music technology throughout time.  We've compiled this timeline using information from Wikipedia and YouTube to allow you to explore the history of music technology in one convenient place. The timeline has a strong focus on the last 150 years but still includes some earlier music technology developments.

We know that we haven't included every music technology development or inventor within this timeline.
