Assessment for "Engaging India" is based on three dimensions: learning from expert sources, learning with other course participants and learning about your own learning.
"Engaging India" combines a range of assessment activities both informal and formal. There are short and directive assessments such as quizzes to help keep you on track from week to week. There are longer exercises that build across the weeks such the Reflection Essay aimed at deepening learning and fostering high order thinking skills.
This course requires no prior knowledge or experience to undertake it. It is based on a modular structure that allows students to manage their own learning process. In the MOOC online format students can also self report on some of their assessment activities. The upshot of such freedom is that you are responsible for your learning journey, and this might require some enthusiasm, time management, planning and persistence on your part to maximize the benefit the course can offer.
